In order to get to the Aleutian Region Schools you must fly to Unalaska (Dutch Harbor) first on Alaska Airlines http://www.alaskaair.com/Default.aspx?ASDBD=J1∞ (1-800-526-6731) or PenAir www.penair.com (1-800-448-4226).
The Alaska Marine Highway Ferry http://www.akferry.org/∞
(1-800-526-6731) frequents Dutch Harbor April through October, but
unless you have an inordinate amount of time to kill, booking on this
means of transportation is ill advised.

Aleutian Region School District consists of three sites: Nikolski, Atka, and Adak. As Carl said, you travel through Unalaska to get to Nikolski or Atka via Pen Air, but Adak travel leaves straight from Anchorage through Alaska Airlines. Check travel schedules as flights don't occur every day. All locations have housing for school district personnel, complete kitchens, bath/shower, and beds for two to four people. Bring DVDs for entertainment and don't get upset by travel delays. All three villages are one hour ahead in time than Anchorage. Atka is the place I have seen the most frequent weather changes in the matter of minutes. All sites offer beautiful walks so bring your tennis shoes.
Very interesting, Lyn, thanks. Jo
