Covering Student Faces on School Website

While vacationing in the UK a news story caught my attention. A school not wanting to expose students to the dangers of online (and offline?) predators pasted smiley faces over the top of faces in all the pictures on their website. This has caused quite the discussion about being politically correct and protecting the identities of our children. Have they gone too far? Or are they on the right track? What do you think...

With 9-13 year olds culturally interested in having a 'my space' and an older sibling helping them get one, I have concerns about children, immature & unskilled using social networking sites. On these sites, children often claim to be much older than they are. We are planning an Internet Safety training here Mon eve April 14 to educate kids (& parents!)
