Alaska Learning Labs At 2008 BMEEC

Dan Henry and Jennifer Holdren successfully hosted a presentation at the BMEEC conference on January 29th.  13 participants discussed frequently asked questions about: Alaska Learning Labs, SES student support programs, and parent involvement opportunities.  Participants were asked to take a quiz at the end of the session.  All participants recieved an incentive prize from the student incentive store.

 The session went well, even if one elder did fall asleep for a short time. 

 The session was developed to  followed Teri Regan's professional development model related to "Goals for Change".  Change goals in the area of knowledge and skill were identified.

Change Goals:
 
1. (Knowledge) Increase the participants’ knowledge of the Alaska Learning Labs SES after school program.
2. (Skills) Provide participants direction on how to apply knowledge that will result in:
    A.  Additional opportunities for student extended learning
    B. Increased parent involvement in their child’s education 

The quiz is attached.  Try it.  If you get it 100% correct, a secret message will be revealed
